2012 Chevy Colorado Reconsidered

Since making the previous entry, we’ve accessed some additional photos of the Chevrolet Colorado, which was launched this week in Thailand. Note well that this is a global program, so its penetration will go far beyond Southeast Asia.

Note how the Chevy design language that was first expressed on the current generation Malibu, particularly the split front grille, is used on this vehicle. This is further evidence that Chevrolet is General Motors main world-wide brand, and they want people to recognize Chevys as Chevys.

And as you’ll undoubtedly notice from the picture of the interior of the vehicle, the steering wheel is on the right side: just because a vehicle is global doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t have local attributes.

Addition on October 10: General Motors has announced that the Colorado will come to the U.S.
