THINK About this Drive

If you look at the people who are waiting at the finish line of the Brighton to London Eco-Rally, you might imagine that with the evident anxiousness the driver for whom they are waiting went a lot further than the some 46 miles between the two U.K. municipalities.   And you would be right.

If you look at the people who are waiting at the finish line of the Brighton to London Eco-Rally, you might imagine that with the evident anxiousness the driver for whom they are waiting went a lot further than the some 46 miles between the two U.K. municipalities.

And you would be right.

Turns out that that was but the last bit of a 4,500-mile, month-long trans-European adventure, the Electric Ride documentary program done by the BBC in a THINK City electric vehicle (EV), with support from THINK.

As Stuart Dyble, the director and founding partner of influence, the PR firm that apparently came up with the project, put it, “The THINK City is, without question, the most advanced and robust urban EV on the market today.” Presumably that “urban” modifier is important, given some of the other cars in that video. He continued, “With 19 years and over 30 million miles of real customer experience behind it, we were confident it could take on the challenge set by the BBC.”

Having driven a THINK City—which really is a wonderful urban vehicle for zipping around town—we’ve got to believe that the 4,500-mile trip probably felt like it was 30,000,000.
