Smells Like Teen Spirit (Not)

Mercedes-Benz is launching a perfume.

Mercedes-Benz is launching a perfume.

You read that right.

A perfume.

“Mecredes Benz Perfume. The first fragrance for men.”

Huh?

M

No, it doesn’t smell like benzin (a.k.a., gasoline) nor diesel nor exhaust.

Rather, “it combines woody notes with floral freshness. The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin. The middle note is a arm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note proves a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass and patchouli.”

Imagine.

Apparently it is not even the first fragrance from Mercedes, as the company says it offers exclusive perfumes for the atomizers in the Maybachs and S 600 Pullman it builds.

Seriously: When companies start shilling things like perfume when their getting their posteriors handed to them by their competitors—according to Autodata, through August in the U.S., BMW sold 193,792 vehicles vs. Mercedes’ 162,399—it isn’t a good thing.
