No. 33 Camaro for RCR with its 2014 paint scheme
The Richard Childress Racing (RCR) No. 33 Camaro will be driven by Cale Conley and sport a new Okuma paint scheme for this season. The car will run in two NASCAR Nationwide Series races in 2014; the Drive to Stop Diabetes 300 on March 15 at Bristol and the Bojangles’ Southern 500 on April 11 at Darlington.
The new paint scheme car celebrates a longstanding, productive partnership between Okuma and RCR.
Some facts about this partnership:
- It began in 2000 – 14 years of partnering to achieve technological excellence
- RCR makes more than 3,500 parts for its race team in its Okuma Technology Center
- RCR uses 15 Okuma machines to produce competition parts ranging from pistons to camshafts, cylinder heads and engine blocks
"Two of our goals at Richard Childress Racing are winning races and winning championships,” says Richard Childress, RCR president and CEO. “To accomplish this, we must be competitive and consistent every week. Race car components, especially those for engines, are held to tolerances of less than 0.001 of an inch.”
Machine tools and racing; it’s a natural partnership.
