New Man Leads the PMPA

Michael T. Kobylka II, the new executive director for the PMPA

The Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA) has represented the interests of the precision machined products industry for 80 years. Since the Production Machining magazine’s beginning in 2001, it has been published in association with PMPA.

For much of that time, Mike Duffin has been the executive director of PMPA, and we have enjoyed a good, strong relationship with Mike, his staff and the association membership. He has announced his retirement effective at the end of this year. We will miss him and wish him well.

After an exhaustive search, the association has announced his replacement. The PMPA’s board of directors officially approved the hiring of manufacturing veteran Michael T. Kobylka II as the next executive director of PMPA at its recent meeting. His tenure began on August 1.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to join a great organization, such as the PMPA," Mr. Kobylka says. "Manufacturing is a vital segment of the North American economy, and I’m looking forward to getting to work to continue the PMPA’s focus on the needs of North American manufacturers. The PMPA will continue to serve our membership and make contributions to the success of this important industry.”

Mike Duffin will continue in a consulting role with the association during the next several months, to assist with the transition of a new executive director.
