A survey conducted by IHS among both North American and European supplies indicates that things are looking up in North America and not so well in Europe, based on factors including: production volume, new orders, inventory, and employment.

According to IHS, based on the findings of its quarterly survey, whereas the metrics in Europe have all fallen of late—and the production volume growth has fallen precipitously since January—in North America there is incremental growth in each of the areas. Note that while inventory levels are growing, they are tracking lower than the other three, which is a sign that inventories are being kept under control, which is a good thing.
