Accessories for the autofieldblog Auto of the Year

As today is the day after Christmas, chances are you’re looking to accessorize what you got yesterday under the tree—the tree next to your driveway.

You did get a McLaren MP4-12C, didn’t you?

After all, it is the autofieldblog Auto of the Year.

(OK, we just really like it a whole lot, so we arbitrarily named it our Auto of the Year. While you might imagine that some other cars of the year are the results of painstaking assessment, analysis, sampling, measuring, etc., it all pretty much comes down to that, so what the hell: there it is: McLaren MP4-12C, autofieldblog Auto of the Year.)

If so, it is worth taking a look at some of the items that have been specifically designed and developed by McLaren Automotive that will enhance your driving pleasure in your 12C.

For example, there is the luggage that specifically fits within the 144 liters of space found under the hood (a.k.a. “bonnet”)—remember, the 592-hp engine is in the back. There are three cases with a carbon fiber outer material, carbon fiber handles, and McLaren Orange detail stitching.

Or, you might be interested in picking up a pair of the ergonomically designed, full-grain black sheepskin leather driving gloves. Again, note the McLaren Orange stitching.

Anyone who has watched an F1 knows that McLaren has a solid relationship with TAG Heuer, so it should come as no surprise that there is the Tag Heuer Carrera MP4-12C chronograph, complete with carbon fiber on the dial. This watch was designed with the participation of Frank Stephenson, the McLaren Automotive Design Director, so it isn’t your ordinary run-of-the-mill watch. There are only 1,000 of these being made, so you’d better place your order, pronto. (You can order this stuff here.)

But chances are, if you’re like us, you may have to be satisfied with this:
