FCA SHAP assembly

They buy a lot of manufacturing equipment at FCA Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, for example, where they’re building the Ram 1500 pickup, shown here, the truck that received the 2019 NACTOY Truck of the Year Award, which is no small feat, and which goes to say that the women and men at SHAP are doing a tremendous job.  (Image: FCA)

Obviously, the answer to the first question above is “yes.” You are reading this.

The second one is a little more precise. As in whether you’re working at a discrete parts manufacturing facility (which pretty much means anything from an OEM all the way down through the tiers) and are involved in the purchasing of machinery, equipment, tools, materials, controls, software, and so on.

If so, we’d like you to help our sister operation Gardner Intelligence and take the 2019 Industrial Buying Influence Survey.

Which runs until November 4. And which can be found right here.

An objective of the survey is to determine, so my friends over there tell me, “the pace and the process by which buying teams evaluate, research and decide on purchases.”

It won’t take much of your time. And, yes, you will remain anonymous.

What’s more, although I won’t know if you filled it out, my colleagues will and we just might score some points.

Which, as you know, is always good to do with one’s sister operations.

Again, you can get there from here.
