To meet a challenge of those working to develop fuel cells, Sensor Products (East Hanover, NJ; www.sensorprod.com) has developed an application for its Tactilus electronic sensor system that aids the fuel cell developers. It is important to have uniform interfacial spacing between the membranes in a fuel cell stack so as to achieve maximum current flow. According to Carlos Ruiz of Sensor Products, their system permits mapping and displaying pressures of a fuel cell stack assembly in real time so that the developers can work toward maximizing the voltaic action.
