Robert Novak, Associate Dean of School of Applied Technologies at Waukesha County Technical College in Wisconsin, once again proudy recognizes his students by presenting his Moldmaking Class of 2013 ... and MMT makes the grade too (with our Top 10 Reasons to Be a Moldmaker t-shirts)!
Waukesha County Technical College is working to narrow the Skills Gap by preparing future moldmakers on state-of-the-art equipment. Each year the Tool and Die program admits approximately 60 students, but demand for WCTC students is high and many first year students choose to “job out” and finish their degree through the WCTC Tool and Die apprenticeship program with their employer sponsoring the remainder of their education. A majority of the second year students shown in the photo are finishing the fulltime Tool and Die program while working part-time in shops. By completing the fulltime program they satisfy the schooling requirement and are just about guaranteed to be hired as apprentices. Click here to read about each pictured student's story.
