Toyo Tires’ SEMA Monster

The CTS-V Wagon, the 556-hp CTS-V Wagon, struck us as being, well, powerfully silly. After all, driving to Costco is one thing (isn’t that what wagons are for?), but then driving in the Costco parking lot is another story, entirely.

Shows what we know about horsepower and CTS-Vs. But this time it is a 2012 CTS-V Coupe—and no, we didn’t have the opportunity to drive it to Costco.

That’s because this car, named Le Monstre, was specially tuned by The D3 Group for display at the Toyo Tires stand at the 2011 SEMA Show.

T

Le Monstre? Well, this monster has a 427-CID engine with a 3.6-liter supercharger system, all of which sums to 1,001 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

As for the name: It is a tribute to the 1950 Cadillac Coupe Series 61 car that raced at Le Mans, and so called by the French media.

And this SEMA car will compete in the 2012 Time Attack race series.

Sacre bleu!
