Lotus is putting an end to the production of the Exige—the coupesque variant of the Lotus Elise—after 11 years and the final edition is going out with a knowing nod and even a slight gasp of envy from designers and car enthusiasts alike.

It has just introduced in the U.S. the Exige Matte Black Final Edition. The car has not only a wonderful paint finish, but 257-hp under its hood.

Here’s the part that is somewhat stunning: They’re going to be building just 25 of these Exige Matte Black models.

In addition to which, Lotus has unveiled the Lotus Evora GTE Road Car Concept. Lotus has an Evora for the new GTE motorsports category. This is the—what?—daily-driver version (or concept). It has a powertrain capable of producing over 420 hp and a sequential AMT racing transmission.
