Lexus: Hybrid Commitment Continues

Of all the luxury car brands, Lexus has by far the greatest number of hybrids.

Of all the luxury car brands, Lexus has by far the greatest number of hybrids. Whether you’re looking for plush (LS 600hL), fast (GS 450h), utility (RX 450h), or one-and-only (HS 250h), they’ve got the hybrid for you.

Next year they’ll be rolling out with their second dedicated hybrid, the CT 200h, a compact. Like the HS 250h, this will be a dedicated hybrid platform.

While vehicles like the LS certainly appeal to the older demographic, plans for the CT 200h have younger—but somewhat affluent, as we’re talking Lexus, not Toyota—buyers. Said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager, “The CT 200h is expected to lead the class in fuel economy and deliver low emissions, but the CT 200h isn’t just about being a hybrid, it’s about having fun. The stylish CT 200h has an attitude and driving dynamic unlike any other Lexus hybrid. It will excite eco-conscious, young consumers and symbolize urban, luxury living.”

Presumably the savings will go toward paying the rent on the loft.
