Cheering Electric Vehicles

On Sunday, there will be a protest—or make that pro-test—amongst owners and partisans of electric vehicles (EVs). No, not a variant of Occupy Wall Street.

On Sunday, there will be a protest—or make that pro-test—amongst owners and partisans of electric vehicles (EVs). No, not a variant of Occupy Wall Street.

Rather, it is “National Plug In Day.” The event will occur in 26 cities, from New York to LA and in between. So if you’re an owner of an EV or an enthusiast, you might want to check out the National Plug In Day website to find out what’s going on in your locale.

In addition, the documentary Revenge of the Electric Car will have it opening on Friday, October 21, in New York and LA. The film, made by Chris Paine, the man behind Who Killed the Electric Car?, is actually bullish on the outlook for EVs.

Presumably, EV partisans everywhere will be cheering Paine and people ranging from Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn to former General Motors vice chair (and present consultant) Bob Lutz for their efforts that have led to things like the Nissan LEAF and the Chevrolet Volt, two cars that should be figuring well in those plug-in parades.
